Barbara Gruber's paintings are about light, color, air, touch and the experience of painting. Painted directly from life, Barabara's paintings speak to the abstract nature of vision - the way our eyes see, in pieces of color and shape.

Barbara studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she earned her BFA in painting. She studied in the graduate fine arts program at the University of Pennsylvania and continued on to Brooklyn College, where she earned her MFA. She was the recipient of a number of graduate and undergraduate awards, including the Charles Shaw Award for Excellence i Painting.
