"Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, I studied fine art and art history at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, from which I was awarded a bachelor's of arts. After graduation in 1998, I moved from Illinois to Boston and studied architecture at The Boston Architectural Center, and stained glass at the Lyn Hovey Studio, Inc."

"Influenced by my stained glass background in glass painting, where the play of light and the shading of paint on pre-imposed color define an image, I strive to create luminous oil paintings that seem as if to project their color from within. I work with a cold wax medium that produces a matte look to an oil painting."

"I am inspired most by nature and the products of it, and primarily use flowers as the original ideas for my paintings."
