"I think that our generation is blessed with a certain rivival of craft. I feel that craft in general and pottery specifically are the arts of our times; that people identify and appreciate real objects, and objects that function in their lives ona daily basis."
- Michael Kline.
Okra Pottery was created in 1993 as a line of pottery celebrating and combining rich glazes with botanical designs and functional forms. Each piece is designed and handmade by Michael Kline. Michael works primarily in stoneware fired in wood and salt kilns, and has recently begun to once-fire his work. He was given an artist-in-residency at Penland School of Crafts, where he currently works and lives.
Michael Kline's pottery is shown at 25 Commercial Street, Wellfleet
