Hidden in the heart of the Appalachians, Jim Probst has been modifying his skills in the art of furniture making for thirteen years.
His furniture is a mix of contemporary design and old world craftsmanship. He refers to his design acumen as "mission influenced" due to the strong influences of the Arts & Crafts era. Some of the unique characteristics are the addition of graceful curves and sleeker shapes that are a complement in any home.
Jim pays careful attention to each board to ensure that the wood used reveals the beauty in the shape of each piece. All works are finished with a mixture of tung oil and urethane that enhances the color and grain while adding durability. Before any pieces leaves the shop, it is personally and meticulously inspected by Jim.
