A self-taught beadwork designer, Barbara Stone combines pearls and semi-precious stones in unexpected and delicate compositions, attempting to capture in her designs the timeless, universal attributes of the materials rather than a specific artist-driven style. Barbara uses a Japanese hand technique of knotting between each bead, and enjoys the moderated rhythm of the process and the direct touch as opposed to tool based methods.
