Persimmon Oval Pendant

by Ananda Khalsa

According to ancient Chinese culture, the persimmon is considered a ‘’blessing
plant’’, and represents joy to its receiver. This bold necklace features an original
acrylic painting on watercolor paper, accented with six dots. Sterling silver with
matte finish. Painting is 1 inch across. 16” chain

Ananda Khalsa’s work is inspired by Asian art and natural form. She strives to maintain a quiet grace in each of her paintings. Ananda hopes to create jewelry with clean lines and a simple elegance while maintaining evidence if the human hand.  The imagery of bluebirds, koi fish, bamboo, plum blossoms and lotus flowers provide a quiet, peaceful feeling. The process involves composing a tiny painting which is set behind hand ground glass and then mounted in fine silver or 22 Karat gold. Each piece contains an original painting and many pieces are accented with semiprecious stones.
