As he began painting scenes he had encountered there, other subjects and techniques that he had been working with began to give way. As a child growing up in Massachusetts she had the luxury of experiencing the ever changing seasonal colors as well as having access to the beautiful Cape Cod shores. I read through the manual and taught myself how to use it. Being fascinated with the endless possibilities of photography, I decided to continue on this adventure and study the field.” Melanie attended Burlington College in Burlington VT where she received her BFA in photography. She dabbled with painting, crafts, and sculpture before she found her true calling. “The first time I picked up a film camera I was about 10, I could feel the connection between myself and the camera. I read through the manual and taught myself how to use it. Being fascinated with the endless possibilities of photography, I decided to continue on this adventure and study the field.” Melanie attended Burlington College in Burlington VT where she received her BFA in photography. I think I’m drawn to collage because it is about creating images using primarily color and shape. I use cut paper to create my collages. I search magazines and catalogs for the colors in a landscape. If I need a large area of a particular color I sometimes make color copies of what I’ve found. I cut the paper with small scissors or an Exacto knife and use Sobo glue." - Susan Anthony

by Edward Gordon

7"x5.6" (unframed); signed giclee print

The paintings of Edward Gordon are technically correct while the visions created take on a surrealistic quality.
