The Large Dinner Plate cannot only be used for dinner but displays hors d'oeuvres well when paired with the dessert bowl as shown
The Medium Plate or other wise referred to as the Lunch plate is slightly smaller than the dinner plate and proportionally pairs well with the sauce bowl. Many people use this combo for sushi.
The Small Plate is wonderful for a small side salad and is a great bread plate. If paired with the small nesting bowl it is a great "saucer" for a large bowl of soup.
