The primary ingredient in Back Bay Soaps is olive oil, which was first used in soap making centuries ago. Back Bay soaps are produced in small batches in Truro, on Cape Cod. After an initial process, liquid soap is poured into handmade wood molds and left to gel. The loaves are then hand-cut into individual bars and cured. Unlike most cold process soap, Back Bay's saponification is a true cold process, a capricious method using unheated vegetable oils. Our process produces fine, natural cleansing soap, rich in emollients and gentle on your skin. Back Bay soap is tested on friends and family, and never tested on animals.
