Pastels are my medium of choice because of their vibrancy, plus the variety of results pastels afford – blended, sharp, watery, solid, to name a few.  I also enjoy the application (at times) of drawing and draftsmanship skills while working with pastels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI work on a range of subjects, as it is a joy to discover the worlds within a still life as much as it is to dive into a breathtaking landscape.  What draws me to any given subject is an appreciation for the moment in time, and a hope that it may be preserved. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePainting allows for direct participation with the beautiful light, color, shape and design observable in views both grand and intimate: I love painting because it makes me feel that I am a part of something larger than myself.
