A Northern California native and avid outdoorsman, Michael draws creative energy from the natural world, his family, and a lifelong dedication to craftsmanship. His glass art is a personal interpretation of nature’s movement and beauty—preserved in brilliant, sculpted form. Each piece reflects his pursuit of mastering this ancient art form while pushing the boundaries of contemporary glass blowing.
Michael began his journey as a glass artist in 1990 as an art student at Shasta College. After attending, he apprenticed under several seasoned glass blowers across California before opening his own hot shop in the scenic Trinity Alps. Today, Hopko Art Glass operates as a locally owned and nationally recognized studio, shipping to over 100 art galleries throughout the U.S. and Canada.
